Has she had a recent vaccination?

Is she microchipped?

Could have been playfighting or stung by a bee.

If the pup is ok in itself I wouldn't worry too much. Carefully clipping away some hair may give you a clue. Do you have a thermometer?

A normal dogs body temperature is 38.5°C plus or minus 0.5°

Is she happy in herself?

Does it hurt when you touch the lump?

I wouldn't be too worried in that case.

If it's still there on Monday pop her along to get it checked [you're going Tuesday anyways].

Or if it is obviously spreading or the dog goes off colour. Otherwise I wouldn't worry.

If you'd rung me up, I wouldn't be turning out to see you at this hour ???

Hi just down the road from you at Bangor.

I Bought a springer 11 months old two months ago. Travelled some distance to get her, two weeks after we had her my wife noticed a small lump on her neck near the shoulder blade, I took her to the vets and they said probably a lymph gland nothing to worry about, i went away to work for ten days when i came home i thought the lump was slightly bigger. I went back to the vets and was seen by a different vet who again said it would be nothing to worry about but he did recommend removing it to be on the safe side. She had the operation, collected her and vet said he was happy again did not think it was serious but we had it sent for analyzing anyway, results came back a week later the lump was grade 2 cancer. She is a lovely bitch who is coming on well with her training all we can do now is cross our fingers that nothing comes back.
