rangey
went out yesterdayon some peas, wasnt exactly pigeon shootng weather, scorching hot and hardly any wind, but thought id give it a go anyway.i set up a classic horse shoe pattern with a flapper at the head and a magnet just to the left.i also set out 2 floaters about 70 yards behind the pattern.i set out my deeks on top of the peas as they were about 2ft high.things started a bit slow and they started to shy away from the magnet.i tried the magnet in different positions but no joy so eventually brought it in.what a difference.birds stated committing straight away.ended up with 58 birds.5 doubles and 1 triple.great day.only problem was picking em.i had to be carefull i didnt end up doing more damage than the dam pigeons.only managed to pick 28 out of 58....must get myself a good dog. I ve had the same problem with a magnet so much so I now just use the flapper and pecking cradle, leave the magnet at hoe but oe harvest tie I'll bring it out again .
