Hi all.

About 6 months ago I sold my AAS410 and have missed it ever since so its time to purchase another 1 I think. Have any of you chaps used both the AAS410 and the AAS510 ? is the AAS510 better or worse ? How do you rate the side leaver compared to the rear type leaver ?

Do you prefare the 410 or the 510 ? :hmm:

The only thing I would have changed on my S410 is = it did not have a safety, but the new models do have safety's :good: apart from that I would have rated it 10 out of 10 for everything :good: Fantastick hunting rifle deadly on the rabbits and pigeons :P

Thank's in advance

Thank's for the replies chaps, I thaught the S410 would take some matching/beating :hmm:

There must be some more AA S410 / 510 owners out there with an opinion on the two rifle's?:good:?????

Where's the Cheapest place to purchase from? Gun Only or Combo?

Thank's again

Another vote for the s410 from me. I had a choice between the 2 and just didnt like the side lever on the s510. I believe if its an FAC version then the side lever may be easier to cock, but for normal non-FAC s410`s the bolt is smooth and easy as pie to use. Also, when I got mine, the s510 came in at about 100quid more than the s410.

Cheapest will be 2nd hand without a doubt. They seem to hold thier prices very well. I bought mine about 2 years back now and looking at the prices now, ive lost hardly anything on the price of it.

If you can get a whole kit (silencer and scope) then you can sometimes get a better deal than gun only if your buying 2nd hand. If your buying new, then i personally wouldnt bother with a package as most gunshops I know stick cheapie scopes on and charge top wack. Your better off just buying the gun, then picking your own scope & silencer - that way you can get the best ones you want.

Id checkout the for sale adds on here & look on guntrader... I ended up buying mine from a gunshop simply because id waited months and no second hand s410 carbines had come up. The gunshop I went to had a couple from people "upgrading" to the s510 and part exing their old gun.

With regards to the safety, mines a 2007 model and came with a safety.

Had a good look round and read every review etc before buying my air rifle, ended up with AA S410 .177 :hmm: absolute beauty and couldnt fault it at all,far exceded expectations,i did look at the 510 but was not convinced by the flimsy looking side lever imo the bolt is better :)

Sold it now couple of months back for £450 to fund fac, regretted it ever since, should of just saved up to buy the cz,which i am well chuffed with.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi,

I have an S400 classic .177 as a bolt action. I also have an FAC rated S410 (not the Xtra) with side lever, which looks very similar to the lever fitted to the S510. In my opinion I prefer the side lever, it is quicker to cock should you require a quick second shot and it can be cocked whilst kept in the shoulder, which would be more difficult to achieve with the bolt action.

How many shots do you get from a s410 in both .177 & .22, karbine and normal length?

Thanks

EDR

Ive never tried to run mine down to see how many shots I get out of it. Mines a .22 carbine and at a guess I get about 50 shots from 180bar down to 120bar. I tend to then just pump it back up to 180. I can normally get weeks of use out of it before I need to pump it up again. I dont think ive ever let it run down.

I serviced mine last year and replaced all the rings. To be honest its a pretty easy job. You just need a set of allen keys and take your time. Its not that complicated to do at all. Only thing is id recommend getting it chrono`d once you put it all back together just for piece of mind that the power is still legal. It should be as you dont adjust any of the power settings when changing the seals, but you never know.
