AndyCM
Well lamping was a bit tough last night, we almost did not need the lamp, but after a while we had some cloud cover & called this one in really close. Close in Vixen Dropped on the spot. We saw a couple of others but they were jumpy, so we'll be out again soon. Cheers AndyCM

BountyHunter
How did you call her in? BH
SNAKEBITE
AXE is quite good at calling them in, closest was about 10yds I believe!! Polystyrene on a mirror is meant to be quite good as well as AXE was saying.
AndyCM
Hi Snakebite, We found them fairly skittish, only saw two in the open and they weren't waiting around. The one taken was under some thick fir trees, so was in a fairly dark area, I guess it felt safe. Just sitting looking at us, initially I thought it was a small one, it turned out it was sitting in a slight hollow. When I picked it up it did weigh a bit. AndyCM
Hi Bounty, Tried a few different calls without much luck, nothing approached where we had hoped. Then after a while I switched to a Haydels call (one that gives two different sounds depending which end you use) and using some rabbit distress sounds we heard rustling behind us in some cover (that old trick ), so we had to move and hopefully draw the fox out for a shot. I did not come out but a clear shot was possible - one in the bag. Cheers AndyCM
Frank
Well done Andy. It was tough going alright last night, was out myself. Maneged 1, very windy too where i was and i missed 2 because of it , which did not help ,things. Ill be out again too, within the next 3 days or so. Id say when the moon dies down, it should be a bit more productive.
BountyHunter
Nice one, Can't wait to get clearance for something big enough to deal with Basil Brush. We have loads on our permission and the ******* are eating all the rabbits. :< BH

AndyCM
Hi Magman, Oh yes, that's why it's a bit rusty - lots of use & I've never called a duck with it and it is the 2nd (or 3rd ) cheapest call I have. After the back of my hand & polystyrene. Cheers AndyCM
