Frenchieboy
I went out for a walk this evening with my 17HMR but there wasn't a lot about except a load of very small bunnies which after chatting with the farmer he has agreed that I can allow to grow to "pot size" as long as i get the majority of them before they breed! I started getting bored so after carefully checking the zeroing on my rifle I set up 2 "silver discs each 13mm diameter" (To give you an idea these are about the same size as a British 5 Pence Piece) in exactly the same place as my first "Coin Shooting" and shot from the prone position off the bipod. This video shows that my trusty old 17HMR is still just as accurate as ever, but as they say, "The proof of the pudding is in the eating" so here's the video to show how I did. (I have to admit that I tried it first without the camcorder running just in case I could not hit them and ended up with egg on my face) name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="480" height="385">
SSS
Looks like a lucky shot to me frenchieboy If you can hit the edge of the discs at 135, I will be impressed
Frenchieboy
Looks like a lucky shot to me frenchieboy If you can hit the edge of the discs at 135, I will be impressed Lucky maybe, but you have to admit that even if though it might have been on the edges of the discs I did hit them both! I have done this once before in exactly the same spot with these 13mm "discs" in front of an independant witness just a week and a half ago! Frenchieboy
It's all down to keeping your rifle in tip top condition, a reasonably well set up set of scopes and a lot of practice. If you listen carefully you will hear that my breating is all over the place but that is due to a medical condition that I can't do much about, if I could I am sure that I could shoot even better than I do but "Hey ho, What the heck, I haven't had any foxes or bunnies try to argue the point when I am on form"! I could offer you some lessons........................for a small fee! p.s. I have just done some work on my .222 and can now get down to a sub one inch group at 100 yards - I am trying to improve on that now! Frenchieboy
I could do with some! On a serious note: If ever you are up this way please do get in touch, it would be a pleasure to meet a few of the PW members and go out for a shot together now and then! Frenchieboy
Good shooting TEX.What next frenchi flipping um in the air and shooting them of the hip. I do that with my "Gat Gun" but don't have a camcorder mount on it, the recoil is far too severe!
