Guest Mr Pieman
Anyone have an opinion on which of these two manufacturers is better? Preferred responses from folk that use either type Cheers PP
the last engineer
mr p , i use both they are made to an excellant quality, you will however find they will pattern differently pending the size of your bores . eg browning barrels, normaly in the region of .740" diameter and up the largest i know .746" known as oversized or backbored, they pattern well as the load is allowed to expand and relax more in the lareger bore's, miroku winchester having the same barrels are obviously a-similar. berretas normaly have the smaller bores, ranging from as small as .719" to .736" diameter tighter so a tighter choke is required to acheive the same result, many of the newer semis have backbored or " optimised " do have a better bore to choke relationship. MR P, Im not to sure about the dealer in the UK but im sure if you inquire thye will ask of gun/barrels bore and the like, i can and will confirm both are top quality manufacturers with excellant reputations. good luck in your choice. Dunkield
Mr P, I have a set of teagues which seem very well made, I haven't patterned them against a pateern plate so I can't tell you if they are any good or not, but I will say I was surprised by how rough the internal machining is on them. Having said that they were cheaper then factory Berreta chokes so I can't complain. They don't have notches in the end to use with a standard key either so you need to buy a choke key as well if you intend to take them out from time to time. plinker
i have long teagues in my browning the ones that are made for your barrels only not the off the shelf ones and the patterns are fantastic , the forcing cones were also lengthened by teague and the gun is so smooth to shoot , i would recommend them to anyone. plinker
