Gobfish
Was out in the States recently and picked up an extra full or ‘Turkey’ choke for my B525 20 bore. What a difference, it’s turned my 20b into a 12b. I regularly shoot 12b, 16b, 20b and .410 and rightly or wrongly reduce my range for each as I come down the calibres, but out on the pigeons yesterday with the extra full and a three quarter in, I was dropping pigeons at what I would consider rangy for a 12. You could slag it off and just say that I was just having a lucky day but I’ve never dropped pigeons at that range with a 20b before and reckon that choke was doing all the work… mind you I wouldn’t like to shoot a close one with it. BTW was using Eley CT’s 28g 6’s Wanna get out there and do some more but I’m off to sunny Dorset this week ……. See ya
Cranfield
I often think if something gives you confidence, then you shoot better anyway. Whilst there is some variation in "Turkey" chokes, extra full is very tight. It would be interesting for you to do some pattern plate tests and see what pattern you are getting at say, 40 yards. I had the extra full in there cos I'd been on rangy rabbits the other night and was too lazy to change them over. I now have the full range of chokes for this gun and to be honest all of them seem a little tighter than whats written on the side, but I believe Brownings tend to err that way. I'll pattern them out when I get the chance... but at the mo I'm just loving that extra full
