Lunn
After getting my Shotgun certificate and looking around my local gun shops I have found two guns that I like and that fit really well. I cannot decide between a Lanber Sporting Deluxe at £450 or a Pointer 612 at £555. Having not heard much about Pointers I am unsure about it so I would love some info from anyone who owns one or has shot one so I can decide. Would it be worth spending 100 quid more or shall I go with the Lanber? Thanks in advance
felipe_g
my experience - that is not much compared to other people around - is that the lamber shotgun is a good gun for the budget you mentioned. I shot with it and i liked the gun

JRDS
My advise would be to to buy a SH Miroku / Browning or Beretta, far better than buying a new budget gun. £ 550 would get you in the territory, have a look on Guntrader.
HDAV
Lots of people really like the Lanbers, £550 barely gets a Beretta/Browning few Miroku but a Lanber with a couple of slabs of carts may be better value...the gun shop Rugby have a ground near by where you can try some of the guns before buying well worth a trip IMO. Really  There are 77 Mirokus / Brownings / Berettas at £550 or under on Guntrader and if you stretch to £600 there are 93. Some of the older Mirokus are superb and far better than modern budget guns. Edited August 12, 2010 by JRDS
jonesbach
when i was looking for a gun i found that if i went into a shop and told them that i had a budget of £x, and was looking for a s/h gun, ,they then started offering heavy discounts on the new ones which were close to being superseeded by new models. i picked up a new 20g bettinsoli from sportsman guncentre rrp £699(still on the box)..paid £400 with 50 carts and a cleaning kit to get me going! only went in for a s/h gun and a budget of £350 but came away well pleased. give it a go, and good luck! :o
