hi i have been asked to take on a 2yr old springer bitch, which has had no gundog training it does have a docked tail, so should be from working parents. what chance do you think i will have of training it for beating, i dont really want another dog at this time, but dont want it to go to a bad home.

As a rank amateur having enough trouble training my own, I can't answer your question. However, I think that you've answered it yourself. If you're not certain that you want it, don't get it. The resposibility of re-homing it is with the current owner. My question would be, did the current owner REALLY want it in the first place? Your kind nature could end up giving you trouble for the next 10 years or so.
