ash243
i would take it to the vet if you want a good deal Vaccinate your pet for life Vets 4 Pets are still running this scheme and it works. two years ago had a pup from a breeder in the north east who would not use a vet and insisted on giving vacs by himself if i had taken the pup to the vet as i do with all my pups he would have picked up on a heart valve problem and would have possibly saved me 6 months work as it was when i noticed she had a grade 5 mummer and the only mark them on a scale form one to five he said it was the worst one he had ever had. i guess the moral of the story is get the vet to do the Jab and give the Pup an MOT as well Edited August 29, 2010 by ash243
kyska
And also without a vet giving said vaccine, you have no record that the animal has received the jab.
ciltalgarth
Why pay vet prices for somthing that works the same ?
kyska
Because you are negating a vet checking that the dog is in a suitable state of health to be vaccinated, you have no record of the vaccine, so if you ever need to kennel the dog they won't accept it, if you check your insurance if you have it, many companys won't accept any claim if the animal isn't properly protected. By all means do it yourself if none of the above relate to you, I'll not give you a hard time about it. Why pay vet prices for somthing that works the same ? apache
Why pay vet prices for somthing that works the same ? Had a client who thought it would be clever to buy some vaccine cheap from southern Ireland. Whatever this chap bought he ended up with 7/10 of a litter of puppies dying from parvovirus. What did he save? Unsure whether he bought water or if it was not refrigerated but didn't work. As as been pointed out insurance wouldn't be valid and there are many things picked up by the health check at the time of vaccination that even very diligent owners have missed.
