Pointer 20g anygood???

I have seen the pointer 20g for sale £600 – and have been offered £450 for a trade in on my old Miroku 800.

 

I want a cheep 20g for the wife to use when she comes out with us – and cant find anything second hand.

 

Anyone use a Pointer or know anything about them – only thing I know is they use the old Berretta mechanism and Beretta chokes,

A few people on here have the 12G I have seen 612? some info here: http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/ind...howtopic=113077 I seem to think they are sold under another name perhaps a bit cheaper

i have a 612 12g it great they are the same as the webley & scott 12g & 20g but better and cheaper.

ps they use same chokes as the W/S i know as mine had extended chokes and i got W/S flush fit ones hope you have fun.

The only thing that puts me off is the resale value;

I tend to look at this type of gun as being like a old 1980’s Skoda Rapid,

sounded like a good idea new but wasn’t worth a carrot 2nd hand.

well £600 there are Browning medalists 20g for that on guntrader and Franchi harriers for £645 new, some lincolns as well What you save on buying you loose on selling but good 20B seem to hold the value very well. would the missus not be better off with a 12 and 21g shells like the compX less recoil and cheaper to feed, 20G aren't much lighter than 12...

I quite liked it for the money.

All my trade contacts say they can`t believe they can sell such a good gun for such a price.

They are flying off the shelves.

Might get a 20 bore for tuition myself soon.

I'm also considering getting one in a 12g after the midland game fair they look good but could do with a second opinion

they are brill for the money had mine 8 months no probs now put about 10000 cart through it from 21g to 42g would not change mine

ps theres one on guntraders for £525

My 12 year old uses a 20g and hits everything I do, just had the stock shortened for him. I have had a few goes aswell and doesn't seem to have problems hitting stuff.
