njc110381
I had a wander over a couple of my shoots today with the shotgun. Not so much to shoot a lot but just to see what was about and where the birds were flying. Didn't see much at all, maybe ten birds? While I was out I heard a couple of bangs coming from another farm I have permission on so I thought I'd wander over for a chat. Well I was met by an old chap who was clearly not happy to see me! I asked him how he was getting on and all I got in reply was "well I'm not going to get a lot with you wandering about am I?!" Hmm, nice to meet you too I was thinking! Well I rambled on as I do and kept things friendly, he relaxed a bit and we got chatting. Turned out he'd shot three in an hour and a half so all the walking about I could possibly do wasn't going to ruin it any further! We parted company on better terms! If I'm honest I wouldn't have bothered the guy if he was doing well but I'd heard two shots in 45 minutes - I knew full well I wasn't going to write off a potential ton day! So, how are the Pigeons in other places? Much about or have they all gone into hiding?!

Shropshire_Lad
Hi, not much about here in Shropshire yet but spent a couple of hours on some stubble this afternoon. First time out shooting a new to me o/u shotgun, always used a 25"sxs in the hide and boy is it huge! The 30" barrels seemed to spend more time mateing with the net Lol. Once I started to get used to it it was ok but still feels very odd after the sxs. Ended up with 15 for 23. Some I was pleased with others I think I would of got with the faster handling sxs, we will see. Can't wait to try the girls new 20 bore, now that is the same weight as the sxs and handles realy well! Not allowed to use it till they have shot it first atvb Paul. Blunderbuss
I haven't been able to shoot this weekend but I have been keeping an eye out as I've been driving about on errands for SWMBO. I've seen very few pigeons around here recently. We're off out to a mates birthday party tonight, if I'm not feeling too rough I might have a mooch about with the gun tomorrow to see if I can find any.
