HDAV
I have taken my cousin out on the clays twice now, first time he had 2 lots of 25 on the "have a go" stand last time he had another 25 then came and did a 60 bird sporting with me, he seems to have natural ability and naturally stands gun down and mounts to the clay....***, I would suggest he has a lesson or 2 to help his technique but he isn't the most motivated person in the world... in the 3 weeks between the trips he didn't go on his own and doubt he will even tho its only 4 miles away. What's the best way to encourage him, even though i only started recently I went for lessons and did my own research. I will add his dad has an SGC and several guns but never uses them and hasnt been clay shooting with us even though I have offered both times. I would take him more often but he lives 100+ miles away.
apache
Offer to take him every now and again. Make sure he knows how the licence system works and leave the ball in his court

COACH
I`v had lot`s of people come along with their friends over the years that have never shot before and absolutely annihilated their shooter friend, never to shoot again. Yep! that`s life.
HDAV
I think he is interested and enjoyed it, just lazy ( well perhaps more like unmotivated, in everything not just shooting) and won't go on his own, doesn't have many friends etc Edited October 15, 2010 by HDAV
MITCHF
I think he is interested and enjoyed it, just lazy ( well perhaps more like unmotivated, in everything not just shooting) and won't go on his own, doesn't have many friends etc My eldest lad is the same, naturally good shot with very little effort and laid back as you like. But he can take it or leave it, used to drive me mad. I stopped forcing it and he just come's when he fancy's it and I'm happy with that. Although he is more keen to shoot live targets , maybe give your cousin an opportunity to do some rough shooting. Just have fun
