Mightymariner
Just had half a day on some wheat drillings, and for the first time this year didn't even fire the gun! The farmer said there had been loads on it, and to be fair there were feathers and **** aplenty, but today was wet and windy, which deterioated into a downpour and there wasn't a bird flying. To compound the misery, on the way to the farm some drillings alongside the main road were being hammered by several hundred woodies. I'll bet tomorrow, when I am back at work, it will be fine and dry, and covered with pigeons where I was today. Rough with smooth as they say.... That said, there were plenty on another couple of fields on the way, but it's not much fun getting wetter and wetter without even sighting a bird! Spoke to the farmer on the way home and his wife said 'there were loads on yesterday', when it was fine and bright and I couldn't go!
