bigsam
hi ferretboy i have shot on flaied maize many times before and with a good deal of succes. i think saturday would be just enough time to allow the birds to build up for you but you cant beat a good old reece. tey to get to the field on friday to see what movements there are and if need be you can leave it til sunday. its no good turning up on saturday exepcting the birds to be there if you havent actually seen them there. as for tactics if you have got a magnet then or a flapper and take a good few deeks i like to start with about 20 odd buliding the pattern up with dead ones. good luck let us know how things go cheers BS
lurcherboy
You have landed in the righteous land. As others have said, go and have a peep at whats happening, but you will be very unlucky to get no action. 'Keeper is cutting game crops today or tommorrow and there will be much action on Tuesday, I hope LB

Whitebridges
Pigeons love Maize. They can be tricky to decoy on it though. If you put a few deeks on the outside of the crop that can work. If you have a choice only shoot 'em once they've really found their feed, that way they will want to come back for more. Good Shooting.
Ferretboy111
Total of 31 pigeons, so not a bad day atal, they were coming at us all day although it slowed down in the afternoon. Also unfortuantly many came in large flocks as there was no wind atal of like 40/50. hit a few and missed loads, a great day out Alex
