Kes
DavidBasc, that was a helpful response -thanks. 'Hysterical' - it is perhaps a simple response to take a more extreme perspective, whether from our side or the others. Those who suggest keeping guns at gun clubs are really just unaware of the sport and what's involved - the tag line about farmers and sheds shows this. If we treat everyone as someone who perhaps hasn't all the relevant facts to make a decision and give them those facts by way of explaining why their ideas dont work in practice, this may be more helpful in the long run to labelling them 'hysterical'. It also makes 'us' more sympathetic as a group and hopefully therefore worth the effort of trying to understand our perspective ? This may not be the case with politicians - for obvious reasons. A hysterical response to the last war was to intern everyone from germany/japan who had made a home in allied countries - Dwight Eisenhower was originally from german immigrant stock but had learnt 'the American way'.
