ollie
Can any of you guys give me advice on how to bleach a skull. The head in question is a goats; skinning and getting all the flesh off is fine as I have done taxidermy before, however, what sort of chemicals do you use to get that lovely bleached finish. Beardo
i use peroxide 9% liquid from chemists - cover skull in cotton wool soaked in the stuff and leave overnight. the cotton wool can be squeezed out and the peroxide used again afterwards. unclestuffy
Top tip: Submerge the head in hydrogen peroxide completely and leave till it is bleached. Take it out and dry it - when dry spray it with white paint (plasticote sp) and it will retain that whiteness for longer.
