Miroku Mike
Hello, Was looking for some advice on which oil to use on a stock. My mate bought a new gun and it had quite nice wood which was a little dull, even though it was new with an oil finish, he hand burnished linseed oil into it, this took immediate effect, it bought all the colours of the wood up ie the blondes and darks. Is this advisable and if so what is the best oil? Linseed / tru oil / danish oil or are there some others. Thanks in advance Mike
Marcus
You could ask 5 people and get 5 different answers. I personally like Danish. Its a blended Oil with resins and driers which makes it easy to use and gives a great finish. There are a few 'gun oils' out there, all basically a blended oil but marked up accordingly. Just get a good quality Danish, does the same and will cost you less.
