Hi Frank, hope you get this, I didnt PM it as I am of work sick and dont get Email at home.

I am looking to do some Pike fishing with my son. I live in Banbridge Co. Down and to the best of my knowledge there isnt much Piking here. I hear that in the Castleblanney area ( lake Muck?:(?) is good. Do you fish? Do you know any good areas that I could take a day trip to with my 8 yr old. I wont be over fishing it or any of that stuff.

I tried a Irish forum Angling in Ireland and was more or less told to Pi** off. They dont want to give anything away. I have good kit but it is for shore fishing. Size dont matter to me, it an age thing  I really want my son to catch a pike, any size will do.

Sorry this is not a shooting post, just in case someone else tell me to pi** off, my image couldnt take it again :(

If you dont fish dont go to any effort to put me straight - keep shooting straight

Big dog your in piking heaven, im from Donaghcloney, the lagan is full of them here! Above the weir @ banoge bridge is were id fish if im lookin big ones , but the whole stretch from blackskull to maralin is full of pike hence there being no trout anymore :D You also have the bann which is famous for coarse fishing and for pike espcially around portadown. Thats before you get to any of the lakes!

If you want abit of sport for your son, i used to regulary fish along a small stretch that my cousin owns (hes also the baliff so your elected) im sure if i asked him, he'd have no probelm letting you fish away. I havent been fishing in a while but around september time when i last went, we caught 5 between 2 of us. most of the fish caught wer around 4/5 pound mark and from memory the largest was 8.5lbs. Id be more than happy to go down and see if there are still many pike about for you.

Regards Ozo
