DorsetJasper
Well the cheque has been banked from my TD5 total loss and now i need to find anew 4x4. I cant find any decent TD5s in my price range, miles and spec etc so im now looking at other 4x4's and a couple of Nissan Patrols have popped up. One bieng the 2.8 Turbo Diesel and one a 3 litre DI Diesel. My question is do any of the pigeon watch clan own a patrol? whats it like and what should i look out for. Or if any one sees a TD5 es preferred auto box with 7 seats for sub £5500.00 please let me know.

ProteuS
I'm a huge fan of the patrol, although don't presently one. Reliability is excellent, and the drivetrain is virtually bombproof. rear locker as standard. The 6 cylinder 2.8 is supremely reliable if a little underpowered for the size of machine. the 3 straight 4 has a little better economy and if looked after has good reliability. If well maintained will go on forever. Check for rust as usual, and have a good drive to get a feel for it. Depending on what performance you like from a vehicle you may find it painfully slow. Still you can get one stock, throw 33 tyres with no modifications or need to worry about the drive train and just go. I'd reccomend one over the disco.
