DNS
Lancs say they are very busy at the moment. I put my SGC application in last week and have been told it will be 'several' weeks before I get a call to arrange a visit. Workload must have picked up recently as I was talking to another new applicant on Sunday at a clay shoot who said he went from form-in to visit in a single week. Lancs reputation historically seems very good compared to many. Staff in the office very civil; I've yet to meet a FEO. Frenchieboy
I had to phoned the Lancs Firearms Office this afternoon to make sure that they had received the Shotgun Purchase Form I sent in, which they confirmed they had and it was now registered to me. I have to say at this stage that I have nothing but the highest praise for Nicole and the rest of the girls in the office, they have always been very polite extremely helpfull and very efficient, I really can not fault them! While I was on the phone to Nicole about the shotgun registration I politely asked if she knew of any news about my variation application. She told me that she did not know anything but after I explained that my FEO had promised to have it on the Issuing Officers desk for last Friday at the latest she very kindly offered to go and ask the Issuing Officer if there was any news. A couple of minuted later she returned and said that the Issuing officer had said that he had not received anything yet. This has me thinking, if my FEO promised that he would have it there by last Friday at the latest then what had gone wrong? Nicole did add that my FEO had confirmed that he had done his report and sent it via "Internal Mail" to the Issuing Officer. Now if it had been sent via Royal Mail I could understand it getting "held up in the post" but surely a hold up in their "Internal Mail" system is much less likely, especially being held up for a week. There we have it then, I really am no closer than I was a week and a half ago and now I haven't a clue as to where the report from my FEO has got to either. They say that patience is a virtue and I am trying to be patient, but it aint always easy!
