Frenchieboy
The weather looked reasonable this afternoon so the wife and I decided to go for a bit of a walk together. I took my trusty Canon EOS400D with me and snapped these few before it started to drizzle. The first 2 are my favourites as they can get very tame. The tree rat might have thought of himself as a bit of a poser but he had better think himself lucky that I didn't have a gun with me. Frenchieboy
We also spotted this chap hiding high up in the trees. I know these are classed as vermin and that they are reported to steal a lot of songbirds eggs and young but there aren't all that many around this area. What Jays there are local to us are so elusive and secretive I don't notmally bother shooting them. These two photos are not the best quality as I had to push the lens to it's maximum zoom and crop the photos quite hard!
welsh1
Cracking picture of the tree rat, he is a little poser. Bet he doesn't stand still when you have a gun in your hand.
malkiserow
The first 2 pics are a nice pair. There seems to be a move from gun owners to camera owners...... A shift that many (not on this site) will applaud. Let's hope it does not go too far. There is a very nice balance at the moment
Frenchieboy
The first 2 pics are a nice pair. There seems to be a move from gun owners to camera owners...... A shift that many (not on this site) will applaud. Let's hope it does not go too far. There is a very nice balance at the moment I can only speak for myself to comment on this. I have enjoyed my photography for a great many years but my cameras will never replace my rifles nor will my rifles will ever replace my cameras. I get a lot of pleasure out of both and, where wildlife photography is concerned, I believe that just as much fieldcraft is involved as it is in shooting. When all is said and done you need to understand your quarry to get "that perfect shot" regardless of if it is with a rifle or a camera! That's just my thought, I have no doubts that others will disagree with me!
