wymberley
Hi, OK, you CZ guys, can anyone tell me offhand (please don't go to any trouble as at this stage it's a case of "just in case") if these, by Calhoon, are available in the UK or is a case of a USA order placement? The "S" is the size for the 22 Hornet (among others of a small calibre). Thanks in advance, but as said, please don't bust a gut. Cheers, Phil
njc110381
Yeeeaaahhhh! You're thinking about getting the CZ aren't you?! Go on, you know you want to! My rifle was built here and had one fitted. I think it may have come over from the states with the stock though. Should be easy enough to source one either way. My rifle was built here and had one fitted. I think it may have come over from the states with the stock though. Should be easy enough to source one either way. Nooooooooo no no no! But it's starting to look like second choice! Thanks for your response, mate. If I have to get one and if I may, I'll pick your brains as to who built yours. At the moment, anywhere in the UK is a waste of time/space regarding my rifle of choice and I'm awaiting a response from the States. The problem I have with a magazine rifle is the maximum COL. Had a play on Saturday and backing off a few thou (as you do) from the lands produced 1.950" COL. It's catch 22. Until you get YOUR rifle, you don't know what the most accurate COL is so you have to cater for somewhere close to the lands. We loaded a dummy round which slotted into matey's Anschutz lovely; problem was, trying to get it out! If I don't get a sensible response soon, I'll get back to you. Again, many thanks, Phil
njc110381
You can grind back the plastic follower in a CZ Hornet mag and gain loads of extra length if you need it. I wouldn't settle for second best, but then on saying that it looks like you're struggling to find second best so will have to make do with a nearly perfect CZ?! Hornet 6
I have not been able to find one, so far it looks like a phone call to the USA as Calhoon don't do online ordering or payment. Neil.

Hornet 6
Neil, thanks. Starting to look like the family/friend/post/customs/present route again. Cheers That's what I decided, so for now I'm not bothering, particularly as it seems accurate enough when loaded at standard length. I am crimping all rounds though, seems to make a difference. Neil. However, I'm having a real problem getting one at the moment. The problem should be temporary but I can't wait forever. If I'm forced to give in and get the 527 I will need the follower as I'm loading 40gr Nosler BTs and will therefore sing out, as, if I need one, I may as well get 2 if you still want one. Hornet 6
Savage model 40, good luck finding one. You may as well start the body building now, just incase you are unlucky enough to find one Should you actually end up with a CZ I would indeed be interested in getting a single shot adaptor. I must admit before I settled on a CZ I was looking at a single shot Thompson Centre, in the end the £960 price tag and only being able to have the one they have in stock put me off. Neil. Neil, Can you remember what model Thompson you were looking at? The current G2 range does not appear to include the hornet. Cheers

You may as well start the body building now, just incase you are unlucky enough to find one Sorry wymberley, I know how it feels to not be able to get hold of a rifle I want. I waited over six months for my .338 and that's probably something that many would consider a poor choice of rifle. On a serious note I know how you must feel... As I said above though you could always grind out the mag on the CZ if you get one, it's not that hard and then you'd have multi shot ability even with the longer bullets. Then you'd have a really nice gun.

Not going to start jumping up and down yet and am not holding my breath, but may, just may have had a bit of good news a little earlier. Being somewhat knack ered, weight is not a problem for me. The rifle comes out of the slip and is placed on the cab roof and then put back. Consequently, the T3 varmint stainless (1 in 8) with just 599 rounds through it will be an absolute bargain when it appears in the for sale forum shortly. Hornet 6
Neil, Can you remember what model Thompson you were looking at? The current G2 range does not appear to include the hornet. Cheers It was the TC Encore, .22 hornet, synthetic stock and blue barrel and action, with iron sights. That was the problem, I wanted stainless steel, no sights and a laminated stock, they would not quote a price for a gun that needed ordering, until it was here. You could phone Viking Arms 01423780810 to see what they have in stock now, I was looking in March/April this year Neil.
