GCQ
Hi Everybody, I'm just starting out as a pigeon shooter. What sorts of decoys and hide equipment do people recommend? Rgds, Greg

Cranfield
Welcome GCQ, as Buzzer says, it depends on your budget , how fast you want to build up your equipment and your DIY skills. Most of us have spent some long time assembling all our bits and pieces. I would hate to think what it would cost, to go out and replace it all now. You need a hide. Hide poles can be made. or you can use washing line poles, they are cheap. Ex Army cammo nets are probably the cheapest and I use them. You also need decoys. Plastic type material shell decoys, are adequate and cheap. Floaters give you the cheapest form of movement in your decoy pattern. If you look on the Photo Forum, you will see some detail on how to make your own. Keep you eyes on the For Sale section of the Sporting Gun, even some local papers, boot fairs and on here, for secondhand equipment, especially nets and decoys. At least nobody need ever wonder what you want for your birthday, or Christmas, ever again.
