Guest jonrms
AGS PCR1 So I got this only a few weeks ago as you all remember... but when refilling the gun I am having problems, The rifle has a nipple where you put a detachable air line hose into. then you turn the bottle open as normal.. and air goes in.... all is fine and well until you release the pressure valve on the cylinder and 50% of the time all the air comes out..... it is suppose to have a one way valve going into the gun...... I have already tested this theory by ....... when you connect the rifle to the bottle it never registers anything..... you can open the bleed valve on the bottle and still nothing.. try filling it and its a differant story... you fill it to 200psi.. or as i do 190 psi.. then open the bleed valve... but it just wastes air... grrrrr. any ideas.... roblade
how much air is bleeding out? if you open the vavle slowly it will bleed all the air from the rifle as it needs to be opend quickly to enable the one way vavle on the rifle to close. as the name of the vavle says it is a BLEED VALVE so you will loose a bit of air and this is perfectly normal and nothing to worry sbout, if you have a micro bore hose (about 1/4" total diamiter) you wont loose as much air as the normal size hose. But if your opening the vavle quickly and still loosing 50% of the air you have put in the rifle there could be a problem somewhere. Guest jonrms
i have tryed the slow approach as you say.. but sometimes that works sometimes it doesnt... I have tryed the fast approach.. again it does the same... its a guessing game.. i am not sure what else to do... will probably contact the company I bought it from as its under warrenty. grrrrrrrrrrrrr
roblade
im not saying you should do this but if it were my rifle i would try giving it a good fast blast of air INTO the rifle from empty, it souns like you might just have a bit of dirt in the valve somewhere and that might clean it. *******THIS IS A ONE OFF BLAST***** normaly you shoujld fill the rifle slow and steady, and open the bleed vavle quick. failoing that as the rifle is under garantee contact them and see what they sugest. Guest jonrms
:o Finally decided to call up AGS after speaking to Pickering airguns where I bought the gun from. I called yesterday and AGS had a woman named Kim call me back. I was told that the engineer that deals witht he PRC1's is not in and sick. I called today as I was told and he still is. (poor guy.. probably got man flu and I hope he gets better) Well anyway I am having to call tommorow...and if he is not in they will just pick the gun up. Kim was hoping to avoid this because she agrees with me and Pickering Guns.... when we believe the problem to be the valve that attaches to the tank. Well Fingers crossed. any one sent guns to logun? if so whats the average time your without your rifle for? Thanks peeps.
neilbe2
i found the guys at pickering airguns were very friendly, whats the afterservice like? helpfull?
Guest jonrms
Hi Neil, The guys at pickering are great! I called them to tell them about the problem. they stated and I DO BELIEVE THIS.... that because it is so far for me to travel to them... i should call AGS direct.... which i did.. but any problems they will be in touch with them and sort it out... when I mentioned there name to AGS they said yes... they knew them.. and we only happy to help. Now with AGS. I spoke to Simon a few hours ago about the problem.. the valve which is in question is in the gun And he gave some tips to try... if this doesnt work I am to call him back.. no questions asked and he will arrange to have it collected asap.. and looked at... its a new gun and he stated this is very odd... Again I do believe him. He appologised and stated this is not him passing the buck.. but he wants me to try before he has to rip the gun apart. Fear enough! I am only happy with the service I got from both pickering and AGS. AGS are also throwing in free be's as i have to call them one way or another.... I was really happy but didnt expect or ask for these. I even refused and he stated that I gotta have them... well cant argue there! Pickering did me and my mate a great deal on the air rifles. HOWEVER before I go blowing my trumpet... look around for bottle of air before getting one from them as they are expensive! I went to my dive shop to refill mine up.. and for 150ish quid they will give you a much bigger tank than mine.... (sorry cant remember size) and will give you 60 or 70 free refills... which equals more than what your paying for the bottle. So there are deals to be had........ dont just jump in and buy a bottle!
hawkeye
i found the guys at pickering airguns were very friendly, whats the afterservice like? helpfull? Ive found richard and the lads at pickering good and helpful i have bought about 4 airrifles my rimmy amd my HMR plus 1 shotgun from them over the last few years. I would not be going back 50miles each way if i thought i was not getting good service. as i have gun shops a lot closer that i could deal with.
