Stour-boy
Hi Guys help required please, I have a Golden Retriever the tail of which has a patch of bare skin just under the base of his tail which is irritating him ,he has had this before and the vet called it a hot spot and I cant remember what treatment he had before. Does anyone know what treatment is required other than the vet ? Steve.
apache
Depends how bad it is. The hair needs to be clipped and in mild cases topical treatment with antibiotic/steroid often works. More serious cases require systemic treatment. Sometimes can be a manifestation of other problems or allergies. Likely need a trip to the vet for what you need.
