mrpip
Sunday 08.30 start, the field was reclaimed quarry land that has been used for growing regenerating willows, last year after cutting it was diced up & set with sheep turnip & kale. The pigeon have been feeding on & off since the snow. I shot it 2 weeks ago & picked up 36 in 3 hours, the sheep have now finished & moved onto the next block. There was a strong wind from L to R & I had to keep the sun to my back, so set up on a ditch with sparse willows along it using the rotar & 10 full bodied decoys on cradles simple U shape pattern. By 12.00 I had picked 9 pigeon & lost a few well feathered not the numbers I'd seen the day before, then they started to arrive in a steady flow. Had some nice tricky shots with the wind & the pigeon weaving between the willow that have regrown, finished at 15.00 with 36 picked up (thats first time I've had the same number from same field on 2 trips).
