old rooster
So how far should I be walking my ESS pup at 14 weeks ? Seems to want to walk for ever but don't want to do it harm in it's formative period.
new to the flock
It is not so much how far you are walking, but what you are walking on. She will let you know when she is tired and needs a rest. Keep her off of hard surfaces such as asphalt, cement sidewalks, crushed stone pathways. These surfaces are not good for growing joints, or bones and have caused many a case of hip or elbow displasia. Keep her to the grass and fields and she should do well. Just remember if you go to far you will be carrying her back and although she may not look heavy wait for it NTTF
