goldeneye243
I have currently got an improved cylinder and modified choke in my MK70, which I mainly use to shoot sporting (typically quite close targets) I have got Briley Black oxide spectrum chokes and going to order a couple more from the states. I am slightly undecided about what to get though.... I am currently thinking I should get a skeet and a light modified. Or maybe a skeet and another improved cylinder. Or possibly just stick with what I have! Any suggestions....
originalgeezer
depends on how well you shoot......why the desire for extra chokes? i mainly use a semi for clays, in which it uses a 1/4 choke (on the pattern it is quite tight and patterns like a 3/8th) once decided on it i have never felt the need to change it. my O/U uses 1/4 and 1/2 and again i have never felt the need to change it, mostly its my pointing the gun that fails
goldeneye243
I was thinking about getting more chokes so that I can have more options. I am relatively new to shooting, having been shooting just under a year. The sporting layouts I shoot tend to be quite close targets, so I was thinking of dropping down from the modified choke really
originalgeezer
1/4 will break most if close and 1/2 gives you options if a little further The world of choke sizes will be debated for ever and a day, but I would suggest that the combination of 1/4 and 1/2 will serve you well Also, have personally found, stick to the same chokes, forget them and focus on the clays will stand you well in the long term. The reason for missing is most of the time the gun being pointed in the wrong place - I know all to well I know that if you havent been shooting long, the urge to improve is huge, but chokes are a small part of it till you reach much higher levels of skill and competition All personal opinion before the onslaught
KenG
I love my Rhino chokes (Skeet, improved cylinder, and light modified), and shoot everything with them. When I shoot sporting I shoot everything with the skeet/improved cylinder chokes including far out targets, and by some miracle I've managed to get into AA this year. I think we all go through the stage of being obsessed with changing chokes on each stand

COACH
It`s 1/4 + 1/4 for me with 21g fibre cartridges (Hull Comp X) Iv been breaking clays very well out at 65yds with no problem. I will use 3/4 + 3/4 for trap shooting though but still with 21g with plastic wads.
