Works just fine on my .22s and .17HMRs along with a decent set of bore brushes :good:

Though worth having some nitro solvent and copper solvent in for stubborn stains!

Hoppes bore solvent 009 is the classic solvent for smallbore rifles. There are quite a few different types of more heavy duty copper and nitro solvents available such as Butch's Bore Shine, KG12 and Sweets 7.62 depending on personal preference, mainly the domain of full bore shooters where copper deposits are more pronounced but the .17 does lay it down a bit.

Good thread here

How do I go about using this spray to clean my shotgun? Do I just spray the cleaner down the barrels instead of using bore cleaner on the bronze brush?

I see it says that it contains a protective oil for barrels, can I spray this directly to the outside of the barrels and then rub down with a oily cloth?

Thanks for any replies, I fairly new to shooting and I'm paranoid about keeping my gun as clean as I can and want to make sure I'm doing everything right.

spray the cleaner down the barrels and use patches, if it is really fowled up bronze brush it first with abit of the cleaner then patch it.

Yes you can spray abit on a duster/rag and then wipe it over the barrels i use it on my shotguns and rifles inside and out and keeps a nice film on the barrels but isn`t oily.
