kyska
Hi All, I have a Webley and Scott O/U which is going for px, its in not bad conditions, but does have some small spots of superficial rust on the barrels, and the action is dulled. Is there anything I can do to get rid? Its going to a dealer, so they'll see what they see, but they seem so little it'd be a shame not to get rid if I can. Wiping over dulls them. Obviously my sander won't do it any favours.
HDAV
I would leave it for dealer to sort out some very light rust on my grandfathers SxS was removed with some 0000 wire wool soaked in gun oil, it did lighten the bluing in parts but as its 50+ years old stopping the rust was more important than the cosmetics. vampire
You could go over it with a kitchen scoure of the plastic sort then oil it,and wet and dry on the action, but i wouldnt bother as the dealer will still only offer you the same as it wont wash with them, and you could damage it further if you get carried away
