Alycidon
A few months before you mate it as some of the certificates only last a year. Best not to breed a bitch when she is over about 8. Looking to breed my Lab bitch next year, she is 5 and I need a replacement coming through. Got to get the tests done this summer. A
margun
I think the standard age is 12months for hips, certainly no earlier. Somebody told me to get the eyes done at the same time, with the eyes tested before hips, as if the eyes are no good then there is no point putting the dog through the hip scoring procedure (quite unpleasant, general anaesthetic). apache
The dog has to be a minimum of 12 months for the hip score. Get the blood sample done for eyes as it lasts the life of the dog and shows if it's a carrier. The eye examination only lasts a year and the dog can still go on to develop problems.
