shoughton
Went to my RFD yesterday (Eastern Sporting, Gt Baddow, Chelmsford Essex) and wanted to try some Eley Modena - been hearing good things about them and they were very cheap. I was advised that the Modena aren't currently being produced (not sure if that's temporary or permanent as there was suggestion Eley weren't making any money from them) but that Eley have announced a special promotion on the Olympics. They had the 7.5 and 8 shot size, 28g carts for £140/1000 - that's £20 cheaper than usual. I don't think I've tried the Olympics before, so it'll be interesting to see how they perform. Personally I don't feel much recoil so that rarely bothers me - it's the impact on cleaning that is the big factor for me! My Lanber seems to be quite fussy in that some carts leave a terrible mess with lots of scrubbing required. The same carts go through my Son's Hatsan Escort without leaving any mess. I don't understand it! Anyway - just thought it was worth sharing. If you fancy trying Olympics it's worth asking at your RFD for the special Eley promotional price! monkeyboots
have used these shells for a couple of years now and they are a great shell great killing shells on crows/pigeons although i prefer a number 6 for crows/pigeons the olympics 7.5 are lethal on them

My preference for pigeons are Eley HB Pigeon and either those or sometimes Black Gold No 5 for rooks/crows. Mostly because I've had good experiences with them and feel confident when I use them! Looking forward to giving the olympics a go on some clays soon. Friday afternoon if my workload permits  Steve
BobbyGee
I've always found the 7.5 Olympics good on decoyed pigeon, seldom ever get a "Johnny Walker"
shoughton
Interesting. But I really didn't start this thread with the intent of creating another "7.5 shot works fine on pigeons"!!!!! The thread was to let others know of a good deal on olympics
