Dekers
If you shop around you can get .22lr from around 96ft lb to 204ft lb, but the .22lr struggles to stabilize almost everything that exceeds the speed of sound. The .22WMR starts over 200ft lb up to around 320ft lb. The case is longer and wider than the lr and you cannot fire a WMR in a lr rifle. The modern WMR is available in a wide choice of ammo with several weights of Ballistic tip, etc, etc, these are very accurate and very deadly when you find the right ammo/barrel combination. Ammo is close to HMR prices but slightly cheaper, and a wider choice of ammo types is available for WMR than HMR, ammo is generally a fair bit more expensive than lr. What can I say, .22WMR is a lr on steroids, but accurate and more expensive!
