fuzrat
Hi guys, been looking at saving some weight on my kit and looks like the biggest saving would be on the magnet battery. Been looking at the deben lamp batteries. They seem to last longer than the equivalent lead acid battery and a 10ah is only 735 grams. My 17ah lead acid is nearly 6 kg  wondering if anybody has tried them on their magnet and how long do they last? cant quite decide wether the saving in weight is worth the £150 price tag Fuzrat
shoughton
Yep - I bought the 10Ah model for use in lamping - but can also use it on the rotary. Mine lasted over 6 hours driving 2 dead birds around - but it would depend upon the motor you have. They are a terrific battery though - so light to carry. The volts tend to stay up too - right until the last moment - then it's like somebody just switches it off! No gentle fade as you get with a lead-acid cell. Expensive - but a great advance in technology.

steve_b_wales
If it's just for using with a pigeon magnet, then it's not worth the money. I use a small 10 amp/hr battery, which is light in weight. I also use the same size battery when lamping, and it lasts many hours.
