onefulham
Hi, new member here, just got my SGC and looking at getting my first gun, getting lots of advice, not sure what to do, I keep changing my mind, one moment a Lanber, then think maybe push myself to a Browning 525, which I had lessons with and really liked, felt much better than the Beretta or Auto I tried. My question is, we are going to the Shooting Show this month, I wonder what the deals are like at the show, is it worth buying at the show ? The local shops around here seem to charge a lot more for the same gun I see cheaper in places miles away. Thank you for any advice, it's very much appreciated. HDAV
IF you go you may get a bargain, just dont get too caught up in the moment you can check guntrader before you go and print off the best offers to take also you can take CASH as cards etc may be an issue at the show. At the midland game fair the prices seemed ok....but not any better than haggling at a local dealer and as one member found out when there is an issue it can be a real pain dealing with a dealer 200+ miles away rather than a 10-30 minute drive.... garden gun
Have not seen any reputable dealer putting up prices to then offer a "discount". However, if you watch dealers web sites in the run up and some show their intended show prices you can gauge who is giving you a genuine show deal. We got our air rifles at the CLA Game Fair and saved 50-70 quid each on the outfit. Other items such as decoys, clothes, bots etc are far cheaper at fairs. onefulham
Hope good 3 mob reception at the show, then I can check prices on my iphone there and then, I do hope to buy at the show, want to try a few before I decide, have a budget set, but we all know they are there to be broken, especially as my wife will not be there to stop me ! Act first think later, always been my problem !
bakerboy
Check out and note the prices of the gun/guns you are interested in. Do not get sucked in by the madness of the moment. Use the show to try before you buy,not the other way around.
