adam f
Yep - they taste just like pigeon - only smaller. Dont tend to shoot them anymore as they arent as numerous and are pretty little birds.

jacksdad
I've shot a few in my back garden, only because one day there was 8 wiping out my seed table. I plucked and gutted them, keeping the whole bird. I made some chicken stock from the carcass, and added the whole dove to the pan, wrapped in foil. gave it about half an hour, then cut all the meat off, tasted very nice, and threw the carcass in with the stock. I then added the meat to the leftover chicken meat in the finished stock/soup, was very nice ! Next time we have a chicken I will make soup with the chicken leftovers and 3 doves, or two woodies..lovely!

Browning GTS
Normally do them same as woodies in garlic butter. I actually prefer these to woodies. Luckily one of my farms has a good population of them to keep me going. Mind you i shoot them for pest control not food

Melt it down in a pan, a quick flash on either side of the breast followed by another 2 or 3 minutes, a bit like medium steak in middle. Loverly.
