Here is a question i have been asked and dont seem to be able to find the answer in the firearms act

Here is the question bullet components

non expanding heads storage.

expanding heads storage do any of these have to be locked away secure as per the firearms act 2008 as i beleve the answer is no only when all four componants are put together as a round

but all feed back on this would be good from different areas

i think everyone who reloads would be interested in this

We need to know what the law said on it not just areato area but it would be nice to find out what your area said cheers

It is a very poor area of law.

The law doesn't specifically require component storage but form 101 and thereby the FAC do mention "expanding missiles" so that could possibly be used to base a very weak legal attack.

Why risk upsetting the FLO/FLM anyway? He may take it as a poor security attitude on the shooter's part. Better to make some small effort to lock up all components.

As far as I can make out - if the round is "assembled" i.e. can be used - then it's in the box on the wall --

I keep the "bits" and "tools" separate, safe, and out-of sight --

- funny thing -

It's an offence to "dis-assemble" ammunition -- so what do you do with a badly made / error etc. home load ? ... you can make it - but not un-make it
