smiiithy
Me too. But it's well built, goes bang and knocks things out of the sky on the rare occasion I point it in the right direction - that's what I care about. Who makes it? The Medallist is made not, like the majority of Brownings, by Miroku in Japan, but in Italy by FIAS. FIAS is an abbreviation for Fabbrica Italiana Armi Sabatti, which is part of the Sabatti Armi group based in the Gardone valley, near Brescia in northern Italy. It is run by brothers Emanuele, Antonio and Marco Sabatti, whose family - like those of so many current Italian manufacturers - is steeped in the history of gun making in the area. They make shotguns and rifles in a modern and well-equipped plant. I always thought it they were italian? FIAS made guns....

MaybeNextTime
After a lifetime dealing with 'security' in the aviation business, I am convinced that 'security' will say "NO" to anything that is not written down in black and white in their very large rule book. When you think about it that is all that they can say. They have no power to make decisions and they know they will get the blame if there is any nasty outcome. They don't know the rules ref firearms and guns. They don't know if your piece of paper is a real licence. They only know that they can say "NO". So that is what they do - always. If you don't tell them you are carrying part of a gun and the other part is locked in your vehicle - No problem for anyone. +1 Security is generally powerless and scared of being blamed.
