scutt Posted February 25, 2011 Report Share Posted February 25, 2011 another depends on what you want the dog to work at but about nine is a good time to retire the dog if its had a hard life, try to avoid worst case of joint problems in its old age. but every dogs different . vulpicide Posted February 25, 2011 Report Share Posted February 25, 2011 My main terrier bitch is twelve in may and she is still working fox above and below ground regularly actually we still have that full litter and they are all still working at almost twelve as long as the dog is fit and eager long may they continue.
