Fine Duplex Reticle for lamping?

Hi all

After a little advice. I'm looking at getting a leupold 6.5-20x56 scope for my .223 for lamping foxes. It comes with a fine duplex reticle and I'm worried that I won't be able to see the crosshairs clearly enough when shooting at night.

Do you think this reticle will be suitable?

Thanks

Can't be precise - decorators have the cabinet blocked - I have a Leupold VX111 4.5-14 by 50 (ish ?) with the same reticule which can be illuminated but I have not had to use that facility and have no problem. I wear spec's and my eyes aren't exactly new (66).

Thanks wymberley - much appreciated. How much thinner is the crosshair than a 'normal' one and is it just the outside, thicker part of the crosshair that is thinner than normal or is the thinner line also finer on the fine duplex? Thanks again

hello, mate. Let's hope someone else jumps in as I can't check for you; as said decoraters have me "locked out" for a while. So take this with a pinch of salt, the outer edge of the hairs are as per and it's just the central cross area that are fine if memory serves me right. I wouldn't like to pin it down to a direct comparison, but I'll just say it's distinctly noticeable compared to other reticle types. Also, being a reasonable quality 'scope helps. Must say, I don't really pay much attention other than to that central area.

Cheers
