Dekers
cant pick between them i have done a bit of reading on them and they both seam good for the money and i will be getting one in .223 but what do you think guys ? thanks for your time .... sorry also chuck in the remington 700 sps lol Is it an Edge or Axis...anyway, I'm not a fan of Savage at the best of times and as this is an "entry" level rifle, I shudder to think...nevertheless the truth is I actually know very little about it and it does seem to offer decent VFM if it works! The Howas are generally ok, I personally don't like the Hogue stocks (others do) and check you have a decent cut thread on them, and the right Baffle stack in the Wildcat if you buy the package! Remington wins hands down for me! (but in honesty, I would like to know/hear what others experiences are of the Savage). ATB!

oldspot
I have a Howa 1500 (stainless synthetic) in .243 for 2 years and really like it, well built, accurate enough for most people in the field and at the right price. If I was buying another one I would be tempted by the laminate stock.
