oscarsdad
Does anyone have a bipod attached to their ultra? My bipod just arrived (cheap Harris copy which should be adequate for what I need) and it is attached to the QD mount. However, when the legs are folded up toward the end of the barrel it is difficult to cock the rifle.... Has anyone found a workaround for this at all? Cheers Anthony
Devon Fox
What I would do is put another QD stud a bit further back from the sling swivel you already have?
oscarsdad
I did think of that but I have a tactical stock with the stud already fitted...can I just drill another hole for the stud carefully?
lineshooter
The stud on the Tactical stock is too far forward for a bipod, I moved mine back about an inch, it`s ok to drill the stock, just make sure you use a smaller drill bit so the stud can bite when screwed back in. Other option is to turn the bipod around but be aware it may fold up if you push forward when taking a shot.

PLAGUE
oscarsdad . if you do drill another hole for your pod - please make sure you remove the action from the stock first , you don't want to puncture the air res. oscarsdad
Thanks for the tip- I have already looked at taking the action out of the stock
oscarsdad
Bipod now sucessfully attached... http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b441/cuda1980/7ba59ac3.jpg Accounted for a couple of rabbits last night and a pigeon before work this morning. I was having issues with the Wye relief when using the bipod though-I have not used one before so presumably it is a case of getting used to it. lineshooter
Well done, looks good, Shooting prone does put your head/eye in a slightly different place to when shooting from standing, you may have to adjust the scope to suit, but I`m sure you`ll get used to it. welchyd1
You could try this from the BSA owners site. This is what I use and it is so much better than using the studs in the stock. Cheap too. http://bsaog.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=20529.0 Edited March 14, 2011 by welchyd1
