Riothedog Posted March 13, 2006 Report Share Posted March 13, 2006 I've got a 3 - 9 x 40 Simmons on my .17 Weihrauch and it's good enough. Moving over to a 4 - 12 x 40 Leupold next week so a bit more magnification but a little bit darker but apparently better glass so wait and see. The head of the bunny should be 50% bigger but the exit pupil drops from 4.4 to 3.3. As you know, 7 is desirable. When you get to full bore rifles, it is quite common for people to spend more on the scope than they do on the rifle. Never got the idea of cheap scopes - especially for for air rifles - and as its Meopta for my big stuff I don't mind spending on a good scope for my .17. Be careful of going over 40mm scopes on a .17 as the line of sight and the bore line are getting further apart - try to keep them as close as possible for better accuracy. I tried a 5-22x56 Nightforce on mine and it really didn't work. Looked like my ideal woman - top heavy! RTD Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
