About 200 meters of pine trees to chain saw down and take away on the tractor 5 of us volunteered for the job thinking it would take a hour or too WRONG 5 hours latter and itching from those pine needles down are backs and even a few found there way in to my boxers it was driving me mad! but at the end of the day everting was rewarded with a great hour or so roost shooting. me and my pal had got our selves under some nice trees covered in ivey the floor was white with pigoun **** and down feathers. It was;nt long before the first few birds came in 2 shoots and 2 birds great start which made nice chang!!!by about 6.30 17 birds in the bag and the light going fast we thought about making our way back to the truck just as we started too come out the wood the sky whent black not with night fall but with crows so we darted back in to the edge of the wood and in the following 15 minuets had 12 crows bettwen us we could;nt reload qwick enough now thats what i call a reward after a hard afternoons graft and itching from head to toe!!! Blackpowder
Good going hato, were they carrion crows or rooks. Often after pigeon roost time is finished carrion crows came to roost in quite large numbers. Blackpowder
