Simon123
Are the metal tops worth anything after the cartridge has been fired. :hmm: Would a scrappy accept them??? And how much would he give for them roughly??? P.S. I am only talking about a big amount of cart's tops. Not just a few.

HDAV
chop the top off one and weigh it then work it out how many tops to the ton and how many £ to the ton for scrap. There is one company that recycles them but takes them away at a cost. http://shotguncartridgerecycling.com/index.php is one not the one i was thinking about tho. The Burpster
Presuming you mean shotgun carts they are not brass - they are plated mild steel and you would need gazillions of them to make anything worth while. Besides they have plastic attached and a primer from a different metal so scrap dealers wont want the hassle. My advice FWIW is bin 'em or crush them and bin 'em. If you mean rifle or handgun brass then yes it is most definitely worth collecting. Edited March 25, 2011 by The Burpster
