stubby
well Ive just recieved the u caller lamp I purchased, I know its mostly self explanitory on how to set it up etc, but Im at a loss on the forward facing silver screw/bolt, Im presuming its to adjust the angle of lamp, yet cant see how it works, ie, cannot see any movement in lamp with either screwing in or out, if I dont get any answers by 8pm, then Ill be able to figure it out hopefully once its dark outside overall very happy with it, looks like it will do the job, looks like a copy of another well known lamp at twice the price, this cost me £45 inc the red filter, the only bit to fail, has been the sticky on the velco tape for the on/off switch, thankfully the mrs had some much better stuff that sticks like $hit to a blanket
ollie
I put a post up here recently asking did anyone have any experience of this and I got no response. Let me know what you think of it as I am thinking of the getting the scope mounted one. Did you buy yours from the well known auction site? Let me know what you think of it as I am thinking of the getting the scope mounted one. Did you buy yours from the well known auction site? yup, mines scope mounted and came from the bay of e, had a quick scan up the garden with it, and very impressed, simply turn the lens/head to go from flood to spot beam, it'll do what I want for lamping rabbits out to around 80yds (my preferred distance, not what the lamp reaches too) still cant figure out if the screw at front actually does anything, or is more for show (lol) as twisting it in or out, does not seem to make any difference what so ever, my shooting partner has the lightforce, very simular in design, but double the price tag, my last lamp (nightsearcher) although good, kept giving glare from the moderator, none what so ever with this, as its raised that little bit higher, can notice a weight difference (heavier) but will get used to that marks out of 10, Id give it a
ollie
Thanks mate for the review. My thoughts were exactly the same as yours; it looks like the lightforce and a fraction of the price. I think I will go onto the bay now and purchase one, after that I just need to get myself sorted with a battery and I am ready to go (also need my variation to come in for the .223). stubby
after that I just need to get myself sorted with a battery and I am ready to go on the bay, just type in 12 v 7ah battery, seen them for £12.00 free delivery
stubby
have figured out the bolt/screw on front, once fitted to the scope its a bit fiddly getting your fingers in there to adjust it, but screwing it in (very tight, maybe coz its new) brings the angle of lamp downwards, therefore you can set up a target I supose at your preferred shooting distance and then adjust the angle of lamp to hit the spot at that point, ie, adjust the angle the leave it alone, you'll see rabbits etc at other distances still, but you'll be able to estimate a bit better their distance,
