NorfolkPoacher
just a quick question people, could someone please tell me what mossberg 20g hushpowers are choked at, thank you hello buddy, they are all choked differently. Mine is a multi choke model. It all depends on the barrel used in the first place to make the Hushpower. Because of the mod you probably know you should only use fibre wad cartridges, so I tend to use a tighter choke to compensate for the extra spread you get using fibre wads instead of normal ammo. hope that helps, atb dave. Matt Gould
didnt think you can change choke in hushpowers and also why do i need to use fiber wad shells ?
sitsinhedges
didnt think you can change choke in hushpowers and also why do i need to use fiber wad shells ? Because the petals can open up and jam in the baffles with plastic wads, creating an obstruction for the next shot.
NorfolkPoacher
didnt think you can change choke in hushpowers and also why do i need to use fiber wad shells ? the hushpower mossberg is essentially a standard pump action with a regular barrel which has just been ported ( holes drilled in the last 6") to allow excess gas and noise to escape and get trapped in the huge screw on silencer thus reducing noise. Underneath the mod the gun can have any factory mossberg barrel. Multi choke is rare but I was lucky! Once the silencer is off you can access and unscrew the choke like any other single barrel multi choke. As for ammo the chap above is correct I was also informed that the spreading plastic wads can obstruct the barrel as parts of plastic get trapped in the baffles. Fibre wad is a safe bet and keeps landowners happy!! Dave

NorfolkPoacher
Well..... After using over 1000 subsonic hushpower number 5shot fibre wads and having many many runners. I have decided to use regular 20g 6shot fibre wad gamebore traditional game 28gram. They work superb, very fast and stop rabbits really well, also quick enough for woodies. Yes they are a tad louder but really worth it and still loads quieter than a regular 20bore. Hope that helps buddy. Dave
