  7. Hello mate, I'm guessing you have found a scope by now. If not I have my swarovski pvi-2 6-24x50 up for sale. All the best, Dave.
  8. I too shoot 39gr but Remington factory ammo. I haven't yet bothered to re-load as the factory rounds out shoot me. I've never had a round exit out of 62 foxes. I've had one runner ( 20m) and 2 splash wounds (fatal shots) all due to my poor shooting. but chest shots never fail. Atb Dave
  9. Nice work, for certain jobs sub 150m you cant beat the little hmr. Keep it up mate!! Atb Dave
  10. Hello mate. I would like to start by saying I absolutely love the .204 ruger. I've had .223 & .243 ar15, rem700, steyr ssg etc for foxing and last year traded my much loved steyr for a savage fcv in .204 ruger. It was the best CF rifle choice I have ever made. I found .243 too loud and sometimes overkill whilst foxing sub 300m (95% of time). With a decent moderator I find my .204 only as loud as my .17hmr, there is no recoil to speak of so you can also watch your bullet strikes through the scope! The only draw back is you will need a deer rifle if necessary. To finish my rant I will say buy a .204 and you won't regret it. Make sure you get a rifle with 26" barrel to maximise velocity. I would also strongly recommend a savage FCV .5" 100m groups all day long. 1" @200m. I've shot 62 foxes out of 65 shots since last nov closest 58y furthest 286y and I'm no hot shot! Any questions fire away mate. Atb Dave.
  11. I've got the multi choke 20ga a good balance between .410 and 12ga quiet and great on rabbits. Some times I unscrew the can and fixings and shoot it like a normol 20ga pump. Very reliable worth every penny. Atb Dave
  12. we have both a quad and side by side on the estate. The quad is more fun (2005 honda 450) but the atv (2010 Yamaha Rhino 660) is far more useful, it will carry 2 adults, 200kg in the tipping buck and tow 500kg so for shooting and forestry work its great, with a winch its un stoppable! both do 45-50mph on the road but the tyres dont last long if its on the road lots. Not sure what your situation is but our vehicles are free tax as agricultural useage. Honda quads are reliable lasting forever but maybe a bit plain, there are so many brands on a flooded market right now you can afford to be picky just avoid chinese "Sack"a"****tys" like the plague. As for side by side ATV's i would avoid the diesel ones, 3cylinders 20mph and noisey as hell!! only bonus is fuel consumption. good luck, and like al4x said be careful as they are too easy to nick, an alarmed secure workshop, a rottweiler and my mrs keep ****** away!! ATB Dave.
  13. Not sure on price but mine ran at 27ft lbs and was a beast! Very well made, heavy but quality easy to tune and very reliable. eat your wheatabix and enjoy!! Lol
  14. I'm ordering a steyr mannlicher ssg in .243 next week I had a rem 700 in 243 but now fancy somethin from Europe. The steyr price is much better than it was. Atb Dave
  15. I thought on average just shy of £600 but I could be wrong I was quoted that 6 months back for a custom rem 700.243
  16. A good waterproof pair of boots might do it I wear lowa's and swear by them. On the otherhand a comfy pair of Quality wellies like my chameau's are also lovely to walk long distances and keep dry. Atb Dave
  17. I believe The McCanns are so wrapped up in the media circus to take the spot light off of the fact that it is down to there neglect that Maddie was taken. I bet it helps them sleep at night pointing the finger elsewhere. One of the most publicised cases of abduction globally, I personally assume the worst about the poor nipper but considering the potential living hell she could have gone through i think the worst isn’t always the worst. Does Mrs M really think a book will assist the search for her daughter or just boost her P.R and her bank balance?? Of course I sympathise as a father myself but i also have a huge amount of anger towards them for the stupidity and selfishness.
  18. Like the other guys said, if you state that you need an open ticket to carryout regular pest control requests then it shouldn't be a problem. Show the feo that you are safe and clued up on trajectory, backstops etc etc and build his confidence in you. Good luck buddy. Dave
  19. Give philip webster gun smith a bell. He did have one in. He is only 20mins from Norwich. Google for his website mate he is a top bloke. Atb Dave
