Spiderdude
Nick, I've decided to spend the money getting it refinished. It will then be right and I can use it, clean it and put it away without concerns that a spot of water is going to wreck it.
Gnome of the Woods
CCL stock conditioning oil is just that. A conditioning oil for finished stocks. I have done several walnut stocks with it from scratch buy it does need about 8-10 coats to give a good finish. Having moved on to the full CCL kit to finish stocks now I find the wax finish is totally waterproof and gives a great finish to the stock without being over glossy. That sort of what i am thinking, if beretta can't do it right the first time, then the chances are the 2nd time round may be the same
NickP
after one coat of the walnut prep oil, I can still see the slight water spots, though I don't think they are as visible oh well a few more coats and then see how it stands up to the weather, for the viability of the sport sending to GMK will be a little OTT
